A day (and night) at Lakeview

Camping is hard with kids. You seem to need a lot of stuff. Add in tons of water, snakes, snails, frogs, BUGS, and all of that kind of stuff, you need a lot MORE stuff, like sprays, nets, buckets, cages, and lifejackets. (I know I'm forgetting something?!) Roll it all up into one overnight trip and you have a lot of fun memories...

You may or may not know that my husband is an intense and talented water skier.Best friends are we, my sister and me...
No holds barred when it came to making his first mud (and gravel!) pies...
"If you train up a child..."
Perhaps that is a little out of context, so how about, "like father like son?"
(I especially love this last picture!)
Taking a little walk...looking for butterflies and snails.
Let us introduce you to "Toasty," the resident toad.
"Maybe he'll turn into a prince?!"

Will's first tube ride.
The water was a balmy 80+ degrees, perfect for lounging around.

It may look tranquil, but there is still cell coverage!

All-American Boy

Independence Day

Not sure how Keelan ended up with someone 1/2 his age...but they looked cute together!
Gotta love the sack races!
No, we were not at the beach.
I think she is going to need a permit to carry that.

Misc. Summer Pix

Swimming lessons...
Summer colds and ear infections kept us at home for a couple of days.
I just can't resist this face, even when its covered in tomato sauce!
My very own "A River Runs Through It."
The love they have for one another...its priceless!

Visitors

We love having company...
Especially the family-type who teach our kids "good" habits, like how to shoot one another...
Who also completely spoil our kids with late nights, sleep overs, hugs and kisses, and lots treats that we don't usually give them, (i.e., donuts, pop, candy, etc...hence the late nights.)
We miss you, Nana, Pa & Aunt Noni! Come back soon!!!

Testosterone vs. Estrogen

I've been wanting to post this story for some time, but didn't have any pictures to accompany it so I kept putting it off. However, I just decided that today is as good as any day for a laugh. (Not to mention that I simply cannot find any appropriate pictures to go along...) Imagine us invading the home of Lance's brother Scott, his wife Carrie, and their four boys last month. The kids had a blast together and for the most part, the differences between little boys and little girls were just not a big deal. So on our last day together, Sydney and Will were playing with two plastic light sabers, playfully running around and shreiking, and occasionally swatting at one another. Will dropped his (keep in mind that it is taller than him,) when Syd stoops over to pick it up and hand it to him. She says lovingly, "Here Will, here's your wand." My 3 year old nephew grabs it from her and says, (with pure disgust in his voice,) "That's NOT a WAND, that's a SWORD."
